The World Chess Set
Will be used in the Berlin Championships
The World Chess Set is the official chess set for the 2015 World Chess Rapid and Blitz Championships. The set was designed by internationally renowned Pentagram designer and architect Daniel Weil.
The pieces are based on the proportions of classical Greek architecture and the classic Staunton design to make a set that is both distinctive and traditional. The chessmen had become the standard for tournament pieces.
The World Chess Set is the only FIDE-approved set for use in the tournaments.
